WHAT:
For my intern project at Battalion PR, I was tasked with identifying strategic media opportunities and crafting compelling story angles for one of our luxury clients: Jaeger-LeCoultre. The objective was to analyze the spring/summer 2027 editorial calendars of three key publications, identify aligned editors and craft highly tailored pitches.
WHY:
Jaeger-LeCoultre is not a one-dimensional house. To evolve their legacy silhouettes into modern lifestyle statements, I leveraged their technical mastery, profound design legacy, and immense cultural weight to pitch across three distinct verticals simultaneously: a heritage magazine (Dossier), a design publication (ELLE Decor), and a high-fashion magazine (W).
HOW:
I broke down the brand’s assets and built three unique narratives to suit each publication’s specific editorial lens:
~ Dossier | Knowing she grew up in a family that operates Detroit’s nearly-100-year-old auction house, I targeted Senior Editor Shannon Adducci. To align with the issue’s ‘Spring Travel & Archival Heritage’ focus, I bypassed standard product round-ups and pitched Jaeger-LeCoultre’s archival restoration program, The Collectibles. By proposing a 48-hour trip to the restoration atelier in the Vallée de Joux, the pitch offers an exclusive travel diary. This gives us a narrative grounded in cultural preservation and heritage craftsmanship rather than commercial promotion.
~ ELLE Decor | Aligning Editor-in-Chief Stellene Volandes’s appreciation for soulful design and heritage luxury, I intentionally tapped into her Greek roots to anchor my pitch for the March ‘Designers at Home’ issue. The strategic angle proposes an exclusive interview with designer Marc Newson set inside his custom-built Greek sanctuary. This organically grounds the conversation in his craft and collaboration with the maison, turning a standard Atmos clock placement into a masterclass in intentional living.
~ W Magazine | To capture the visual-first lens of Accessories and Jewelry Director Jade Vallario, I stripped away heavy watchmaking jargon. Instead, I pitched the unreleased 2027 Reverso collection as an Art Deco styling exclusive. Leveraging W’s cinematic storytelling, this angle proposes a dedicated global first-look photoshoot.
